Foto ini diambil di Pangombusan, Parmaksian, Pangombusan, Parmaksian, Kabupaten Toba Samosir, Sumatera UtaraEnglish: Tenggiling Sunda, also known as Tenggiling Malaya or Jawa (Manis javanica syn. Paramanis javanica) is a representative of the order of Pholidota which is still found in Southeast Asia. This animal is preferred over most ants and termites. Tenggiling lives in lowland tropical rain forests. Tenggiling is sometimes also known as anteater (ant eaters).
Elongated shape, with a tongue that can be extended up to a third of its length to look for ants in the nest. Her hair was modified into a kind of large scales designed to protect herself. If disturbed, the tenggiling will roll its body like a ball. He can also wag his tail, so that the scales can hurt the skin disruption. The tenggiling is threatened with extinction because its habitat is disturbed and is the object of trade in liars (Black Market). Tenggiling is one of the animals that is permitted in Indonesia.
